Articles
We allow all of our paid memberships to submit articles.
To submit an article, just email us. We will take care of it from there. You can send it in almost any format from a Word Doc to Pages, if you use apple. If there are other graphics you would like to use, please just attach them to the email and do not embed them in the document. This allows our team to design the page for you. We would like your picture and contact information to give you full credit for the article and direct people to you.
The Purpose:
The purpose of submitting articles is to get people to view and read them. This gives you credibility and positions you as a trusted resource within the specific topic that your article discusses. Our goal is to drive web traffic in your direction so people will reach out to you for guidance and help.
Topics:
The topics of your article can be almost anything, however, broad sweeping topics do not go very well. The easiest way is to pick something simple and not “salesy” that provides value to the reader. For instance, what is a common question people ask or a common issue people face? These would be great topics. As an example, a marriage and relational therapist may write something about a tip on enhancing communication. The goal is to be narrow in scope but offer some practical information. Teach something.
The topics of the articles should be a common question that people ask or a topic that people may search for. There are people searching for answers every day online. The closer your topic gets to matching what the public searches for the more people will read what you have written.
Length:
For most articles, the goal should be to be approximately one page, single-spaced. It can be a little shorter or longer but we have found the sweet spot to be about one page in length. This provides enough that people feel they received something of value but not too much that they won’t read it.
Format:
The format can be almost anything from text to video or a combination of both. We love embedding videos on the pages. People watch them and feel a connection. However, if you provide video, you also want to provide some text as well. This allows Google to engage with it so it shows up on the search engines.
